There is a framework for that!

Every problem domain no matter how small, can have a framework applied to it

No matter what problem you intend to solve, being aware of various frameworks that can be applied to it can make problem-solving much easier.

Whether you are a Manager trying to prioritize tasks, a CEO trying to strategize, or a CFO trying to figure out if a project is worth pursuing, there is always a framework available we could use.

A manager trying to prioritize tasks can use a framework like the Eisenhower matrix. According to the Eisenhower matrix framework, tasks can be classified by urgency and importance. If they are important and urgent, do them immediately. If they are not urgent and important, delete them. Other combinations are shown below.

If a CEO wants to analyze the competitive landscape of his company, he can use the Five Forces framework. Five forces framework helps divide your thing thinking into

  1. Competition

  2. Supplier Power

  3. Buyer Power

  4. Threat of substitution

  5. Threat of new entrants

If a CFO is calculating a project's financial viability, she can use the Net Present Value(NPV) calculation to decide on its viability.

So, next time you need to solve a problem, think, “What framework can I apply here? Do I already know a framework I can apply, or should I search for one and educate myself?”
